What's Stopping You Having a Brand Photoshoot for Your Business?

Updated: Oct 19, 2023

That was the question I asked in a recent LinkedIn poll, and I was surprised by the results!

Usually when I ask that question the most common answers are:

😩 I don't like having my photograph taken

😩 I couldn't think of anything worse

😩 Nobody ever gets a good photo of me

😩 I hate every photograph I've ever seen of myself

😩 I need to lose weight first

😩 I don't have the budget for professional photos

But what surprised me this time was that the usual reasons, often driven by a self-conscious desire to remain invisible, were overtaken by this:

🥰 I've never really thought about it

Imagine my surprise!

Now, I'm sure all the usual reasons will still crop up in my client conversations, but it's my job to help you overcome those reasons (or excuses) and help you to embrace your inner badass, drag your confidence to the fore and project it to the world!

What I wasn't expecting to hear was that you weren't even thinking about it in some cases, and this very much surprised me.

So, let me tell you why you should be thinking about having a Brand Photoshoot for your business.

A Unique YOU:

Think of brand photography as your business's unique fashion statement. When we sit down to plan a set of bespoke images to represent your business, you're crafting a style that's uniquely yours. People remember distinctive looks, and that's what you want for your brand. In a world where everyone's shouting to be heard, brand photography is your way of saying, "Hey, look at me!" It's like having a spotlight just for you.

An Ideal Client Magnet:

Your unique brand photographs are designed to speak to your ideal client and attract more of the people who really resonate with your YOUness into your business - who doesn't want more of their favourite people coming to work with them?

Building Trust:

Imagine you're meeting someone for the first time. You'll make assumptions about them and their business based on your first impressions, we all do. It's the same for someone encountering your brand for the first time too. Good brand photography helps you put your best professional foot forward. Customers feel confident doing business with you if they're reassured by a consistent look and feel across all your client touch points. And let's not forget the impact that having brand photographs created has on you! I can't tell you how many times a client has told me how amazing they feel using their photographs - comments like:

'I feel so much more professional now, I'm standing tall!'
'I feel like I'm really the MD of my business now'
'I feel like I can compete with my peers'

And that's just from having photographs taken. Nothing else changed.

Storytelling with Pictures:

Remember the saying, "A picture is worth a thousand words"? Well, it's true! Brand photos tell your brand's story better than paragraphs of text. They convey your values, mission, and personality in a way that words alone can't. They also allow your clients to peep behind the curtain and experience what it's like to work with you before they ever get in touch. Your unique brand images will show who you are, what you do, how you do it and where you do it. They'll also show clients what they're buying, they'll see the process and the product in pictures that tell your story.

Make Your Marketing a Breeze!

Think of brand photos as the versatile ingredients in your marketing recipe. You can sprinkle them on your website, social media, brochures, and more. They're like the Swiss army knife of content—ready to be used wherever and whenever you need them. Just imagine being able to reach into a gallery of images and pulling out the perfect photograph to accompany your post or email - it's such a time saver!

What could you do with hundreds of bespoke images of you and your business right now?
